Terms and Conditions
1. General
These Terms and Conditions apply to all guests staying at Noah’s Ark Backpackers.
By booking a stay or checking in, guests agree to abide by these terms.
2. Check-in / Check-out
Check-in time: 1:00 PM
Check-out time: 10:00 AM
Luggage drop-off is available prior to check-in.
Late check-outs may incur additional charges.
3. Booking & Payments
A valid credit/debit card is required to secure a reservation.
MasterCard or Visa accepted (2% card surcharge applies).
Payment is due in full upon arrival, unless prepayment has been required in advance.
The cardholder/payee is responsible for ensuring that the hostel space is left in a neat and tidy condition and that all keys are returned upon departure. If the cardholder/payee is not staying at the hostel, they must ensure that all guests covered by the booking are aware of and agree to comply with the hostel’s Terms and Conditions. The hostel reserves the right to charge the cardholder/payee for the loss of keys, as well as for any damage or soiling of property, including but not limited to mattresses, carpets, furniture, and fixtures.
All prices displayed on this website are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are subject to change without notice. Bookings must be made using a valid credit or debit card. Payment for accommodation can be made by card, cash, bank transfer, or international funds transfer upon request.
4. Cancellations & No-Shows
Guests may cancel their booking free of charge until 12:00 noon (local time) the day before arrival. Cancellations made after this time, or in the case of no-shows, will be charged the full amount of the booking.
Non-refundable bookings cannot be canceled or modified.
5. Guest Conduct
Guests must behave in a respectful and responsible manner.
Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Drugs and excessive alcohol use are prohibited.
Offensive or disruptive behavior may result in eviction without refund.
6. Room Rules
No food or drink allowed in dormitories.
Only registered guests are allowed in rooms.
7. Liability
The hostel is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of personal items.
Guests are liable for any damage caused to the property during their stay.
8. Smoking Policy
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building.
Designated smoking areas are provided outside.
9. Pets
Pets are not permitted in the bedrooms. However, they are welcome to accompany guests in the fully fenced garden area.
10. Privacy Policy
Guest information is collected for booking and safety purposes and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.
11. Termination
The hostel reserves the right to terminate the stay of any guest without a refund for violation of any of these terms.
12. Group booking policies
Group bookings are subject to specific terms and conditions and must be agreed upon in advance with the hostel management.
13. Kitchen use rules
The kitchen closes daily from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for cleaning.
The kitchen is closed to guests between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
All guests are required to wash, dry, and put away any dishes they use.
Guests must also clean all kitchen surfaces, including the oven, microwave, and stove, after use.
13. Additional rules
Guests are welcome to use the self-service, coin-operated laundry facilities, which include cold-wash-only washing machine and dryer anytime between 2 and 9 PM.
A full laundry service is available upon request for an additional charge.
Bath towels and hair dryers are provided in private rooms only.
Guests staying in dormitory rooms may request a towel or hair dryer at reception for an additional charge.
If luggage storage is requested beyond the same day as check-in or checkout, additional charges apply.
Guests may arrange to store luggage with the hostel for an additional fee. This service is conditional upon availability and must be pre-arranged via reception.
Un-arranged or oversized items may incur a penalty at the discretion of hostel management.
